Getting Started
1. Find a photo or photos of your pet you want Gretchen to use in creating your personalized piece. It is best to have a up close photo with a resolution minimum of 300dpi for Gretchen’s best depiction of your pet. The more photo options…the better! Photos can be sent electronically or via mail. Gretchen will consider traveling to photograph your pet and expenses for this would need to be negotiated.
2. Contact us either by email, gretchenscreations@sbcglobal.net or phone 248-885-1348. Please be ready to discuss the following:
*The size of the piece (standard frame sizes(ie 16 x 20) or unique sizes considered).
*The embeddment of I.D. tags, background color options, and the timeframe in which you would like to have the piece.
3. Once an agreement is made as to what photo will be used, a 50% deposit is required for the commissioned artwork to begin. The remaining 50% plus shipping is due when the portrait is complete.
Ash-Embedded Memorial Process
Once you have made the decision to include your pet’s ashes into a memorial plaster portrait, Gretchen wants to make the handling of the ashes both dignified and simple. Gretchen will ship to you a Pre-Paid Priority Envelope that will include the few items needed to collect the ashes. This will include and instruction sheet, plastic spoon, and seal-tight bag. The size of the portrait ordered will determine the amount of ashes to send but not to exceed 4 ounces. (ie. An 8” x 10” size will use up to 2 ounces). If you are uncomfortable with the handling of the ashes we can discuss alternative arrangements. Once the ashes are received your piece will begin. Your pet’s ashes are mixed into the wet plaster and will dry into the plaster. I will ensure your pet’s ashes are handled in a dignified way and, if requested, I can video archive the process of adding your pet’s ashes into your portrait.
***There are no legal restrictions regarding the shipment of animal cremains***
All major Credit cards are accepted through Propay service. If you are uncomfortable using your credit card, you may send a personal check or a money order. Personal checks may delay commission/shipment while we wait for your funds to clear.
Each Plaster Portrait is handmade with Gretchen's intials G.K. embedded in the plaster and signed/dated on the backside. The piece is sealed upon completion.
Purchases may be returned within 14 days for a full refund less shipping costs. Gretchen’s Creations, LLC offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the custom artwork please let us know within the 14-day period. If the changes requested cannot be made a refund, minus shipping, will be applied. The refund will be applied once Gretchen’s Creations, LLC receives the artwork in original condition. Returns should be re-packed using the original packing material or professionally packed.
Most commissioned work will take 2-4 weeks to complete and dry before and shipping. Seasonal demand may increase waiting period. Standard Shipping is done through USPS or UPS. Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer and will be applied to the remaining 50% due upon completion of the plaster portrait. Shipping costs range from $40-$50, fully insured and professionally packaged.
